The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) is a public institution whose main mission is to finance research in the public sector.
Your role
The Secretary General ensures the implementation of the strategy, daily management, and organises its operation. He/She is assisted by the staff employed by the FNR, for whom she/he assumes the role of hierarchical superior.
The main missions of the Secretary General, in close collaboration with the Board of Directors (CA), include:
- Implementing the strategy decided by the board, based on a proposal from the Secretary General;
- Managing a highly qualified team of nearly 40 people;
- Initiating calls for project proposals;
- Participating in the evaluation and monitoring of instruments and activities funded by the FNR;
- Contributing to the development, monitoring, and assessment of the multi-annual agreement between the government and the FNR;
- Implementing the FNR’s partnership policies at national, European, and international levels;
- Promoting the FNR externally by representing it, particularly in national, European, and international bodies;
- Implementing the policy of promoting scientific culture.
Your profile
Education and Professional experience
- Hold a doctoral degree registered in the training titles register.
- Enjoy an internationally recognised reputation based on the quality of its research and innovation work.
- Have management and governance skills in research and innovation.

Specific knowledge :
- Knowledge of the Luxembourg ecosystem is an asset
